Well, I didn’t think I would be ever posting again under the Fasion Tab on my blog. Though like most around me I do dabble here and there but let’s just say fashion is more of a leisurely pass time these days. I enjoy different textures, styles, colors, quality, and compositions. Not big on brand names or latest and greatest trends. Anyways, my fellow coworkers awarded me the fashionista award this year and best kept secret complete with a mini tiara and pink edible glitter unicorn. It was amusing to say the least.Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-61775706712140091042018-11-12T11:42:00.001-08:002018-11-12T11:48:18.859-08:00Mandala
Procreate! Not bad for a first go! The picture looks grainy here but in it’s original size it is smoother. I may start uploading to Deviant Art. I was curious about Procreate’s abilities since the only digital platform I was native to was Adobe Photoshop and Illstrator. (And that too the ancient versions) Procreate has my 100% approval and I would definitely recommend it. It is very user friendly and easy to use on the go. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least! You’ll have to excuse my lighting situation in this piece as it is inconsistent as I was super excited to dive right in and try this platform out. It’s been some time since I’ve had a go at drawing faces (I used my own face as a readily available reference this time) My best friend pointed out that it looked like I had turned myself into “Storm” the Marvel character. When I googled it, funnily enough, even the hairlines matched. Anywho, now that I have access to using Procreate, I think I will be returning to digital art. It is much easier in the sense that I don’t have to pay for paint and I can do it on the go. I still have yet to fully explore all Procreate’s features but I know I will get around to it sooner than later.Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-22078589867836932972018-10-25T17:22:00.001-07:002018-10-25T17:22:03.907-07:00DigitalizingFor those that know me, they know that I try to keep time and personal data off of technology. Though in this day and age, I don't think it is possible or practical anymore. I will be embracing technology again and start using the technological conveniences of a modern life more. Living life simply has taught me valuable lessons and I will keep those lessons as I progress forward. So, I'm going digital with all my books and notes, hopefully, slowly but surely. I will be getting digital copies; or I will be scanning in my books and recycling the originals. I will be getting either a new tablet or touch screen laptop soon. Most likely a tablet. I anticipate this to be an ongoing project for at least 6 months. The fact that my room looks like an episode of hoarders with books in every nook and cranny of my room may or may not have to do with this insightful decision. Seems that the Old Book Store only 10 minutes away by foot that we got only a couple years back seems to have feed this mini monster. I am excited though; well, reasonably excited. I will miss the perks of having solid copies, but I look forward to the advantages of the digital age. Curious to see how empty and minimal my room will look as my files, books, and notes get reduced. I plan to continue that simplification with other aspects of my room afterwards (probably my closet next)Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-75821412991450547462018-10-15T18:16:00.001-07:002018-10-15T18:16:37.664-07:00EnergyOne of the most captivating concepts for me since childhood has been Energy.

Such a broad topic that fascinates me and trickles into every aspect of my life. The mind map in my mind with the word energy is exasperatingly large as the word energy is heard over and over throughout life in such various ways. And that it does! It takes various forms all which seem to fascinate me endlessly. energy flows, takes forms, is stored, bursts, visible and invisible, makes heat and electricity, allows neurons to communicate and muscles to move, it flows within us and is consumed and excreted. "energy can not be created or destroyed", its even related to willpower and emotions. Energy is what sparks my interest in both reality:possibility::science:art. It's just fundamental and can turn so intricate. etc. A favorite topic to my daydreaming mind.Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-45927497277266799542018-10-15T06:50:00.002-07:002018-10-15T06:50:40.780-07:00Individuality

It's not often that I post about my decision making process. I tend to like to share more event related posts on my blog. It's the concept of walking the talk instead of talking the talk. However, today I'd like to share an outlook in my life that I most currently am dealing with. It will be interesting to see where I go and what I do from here on.

At "quarter" life, I am in the midst of deciding, manifesting, and solidifying my individuality. I have already become myself and who I'd like to be in many ways but there are still some hard battles left. Like meditation has taught me, it will take an unwavering focus to face the long battles I am beginning to undergo. As the gaming industry would put it: the harder levels where the consequences, risks, and rewards are amplified. Transforming and metamorphosis sometimes require the opposite of hibernating in a cocoon. A self perpetuating system of growth with the accompanying tools of building good habits, unwavering solid principles, and more confident, committed, and effort-driven resulting actions or simply put: dharma (thought) & karma (action).

The first and foremost step is to always remind myself not to compare myself with others as everyone's journey is different. It's one of the major reasons I've kept off social media.

The second is to find out what it is I do need and want.

The third step is to go out and act on it.

The fourth step is to maintenance(this includes maintaining a sense of self)/progress, assess quality, and contentment.

The sixth step is to tweek or adapt as needed with new knowledge.

In this way, I have begun to be able to help me help myself. In my younger days it was more about exposing myself to the world and seeing all the different lifestyles out in the world. Now a days, it's more about solidifying who I am. It's priceless gratification but also so challenging! It requires me to develop a new kind of strength through mental, physical, and spiritual training. If I am successful, it will serve me well for my current life and the rest of my life. If I find my own success, I hope I will be able to share my training at one point so that I can help others as others have helped me along in my own journey.

I hadn't been in quite some time as I am busy with my studies and work and they had just recently moved here from Bharat/India. It was absolutely refreshing to reconnect with family. There was a warm fuzzy feeling; the kind that just leaves a slight smile lingering on a face. The problem-solving, world-observing, base-touching, and timeless conversations filled the room. Laughter and wisdom of journey paved way of intellectual debates and due conclusions for the mind to ideally ponder in this warm environment. We all felt as if we had come from the same tree even when others may say we were born and raised in two different countries with their own worlds. I felt right at home; I wasn't wrong, this is where I belong. Such a simple night that re-enforced the pre-existing value of family within me. & Dare I even say to others that it was preferable to going out on a Saturday night. (:Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-29066294205295698912018-10-13T20:06:00.002-07:002018-10-13T20:06:29.455-07:00Full Circle - Connecting with the Mother LandI googled my name out of curiosity recently to see what my name may bring up (in honor of gracious professionalism) which brought me back here, to this blog. It's been a while since I've posted mostly to keep a more private life as I was seeking. But here I am, brought back full circle to my old blog. I've most definitely grown since from facing challenges in my life. As my values get tested more and more, I've finally buckled down to decide on who I am. Otherwise the world will just continue to decide for me, and that hasn't worked at all for a brazen girl like myself.

As it happens to be, it is the season of Navratri, my favorite Hindu holiday. It was a fun night at the local temple where I got a break and chance to devoutly pray and ask for forgivness to the goddess Amba/Kali/Parvati etc. in my favorite forms of garba, dandiya, arti, and meditation. Although I did not stay for dandiya this time as I have clinical/school early tomorrow, I did partake in the other three. I found myself selecting more traditional garba garbs without the flashy mirrors or tassels even. I some how found solace and beauty in the simplicity of the lightweight, movement-allowing garba dress that must have been popular in my great grandmother's time. I felt lucky enough to have such traditional (or "vintage" as they say now a days) garbs as they are not made this way anymore. The skirt is so light weight yet there is so much cloth that the skirt extends much the way a mexican cinco de mayo dress would. Hard to find modern dresses that could accomplish both so I relish this unique combination that allows for simple beauty and freedom of movement.

When I came home from the temple, I found myself talking to Father-dearest, about life growing up as a child on the family farm back in India. These stories always bring admiration, humility, peace, and sometimes laughter to my being. I loved hearing stories of my ancestors as well. It made me feel like I was a part of a bigger picture somehow and I built many values that I cherish from them. These stories always helped put life back into perspective for me when I feel lost. I've decided to restart my concise daily prayers in the morning and like Mulan add honoring my ancestors into my routine. Any who, we were talking about his cows/oxs whom he always seemed to recall after looking at people (myself included). He spoke fondly of them and told me how my great grandmother had worked with/ helped raise them. It reminded me of a very important lesson (right now I am re-seeking the lessons I have learned in life and this time writing them down so If I forget I can be reminded) that lesson being, you should give twice as much than what you receive in any co-operation and then you can expect some return. Even then, you shouldn't really expect anything in return when you give altruistically. By temperament, my very nature or perhaps great grandmother's blood makes me more of a giver and animal friendship & cooperation enthusiast. There is something so rewarding, fulfilling, and happiness-bringing about it.

I said it. Cars look like people. Let me explain. Every time when I’m traveling, I love to look out the window and just look at all the scenery and different cars. Then traffic time comes, and I sit there looking at all the rear ends of cars. Strangely, when I was little, I thought that each car’s rear, well, looked like faces. Let me illuminate before you think I’m crazy. The rear lights were similar to different shaped eyes, and the bumper or the black outline of where the trunk met the rest of the car was a mouth, and the color and size determined the gender and the side view mirrors were the ears. But there’s more to it than just that. With the prominent characteristics of each car, I turned it into and visualized a human face in my head. At first they look like caricatures but then I shape and re-shape in my head and they look like real people that you might find walking down the street. And when I compared what I had at the end to the car, I realized, cars look like people. In my mind, some cars smile, some are grouchy, some are African American and some are Asian, and some are lost and some are found. Each car is a person with a personality and profile.

So enough with the explanation; here’s what I plan to do. My objective is to draw at least 5 well developed car people. Car people being the person I developed in my head from looking at a car’s rear end. And with it, I’ll have a picture of the car next to it. Hopefully, people will see the relationship between the car’s features and the person’s features. My plan for the first week is to go picture crazy, and take digital pictures of at least 50 different car rears. From there, I’ll upload them and select the 5 lucky cars that get to be transformed into humans. Of course, I’ll blur out the license plate while I’m at it. From there, I will print the 5 cars out on large photo paper. This will conclude the first week. The second week begins the drawing period. From here, I will select the mediums I want to use to make the people depending on what feelings are evoked from the pictures of the car’s features. (Mediums I have in mind are canvas with acrylic, drawing board, or photo collage etc.)After figuring out the mediums, I will begin to do several sketches of features in my design book. By the end of the second week I should have rough sketches of human faces to go with each car. This concludes the second week. The third week goes to making caricatures in the selected mediums. I’m starting to refine these features a bit more at this point. As well as finding people with similar features to what I have in mind and taking reference photos. This concludes the third week. The fourth week is dedicated to making the people become real.

Even then, I feel as though I’ve given myself extra time in the beginning so I will probably have more time to make the car people come to life than just one week. For the display, I will have the car pictures on the right side and the car people on the left. (For the lack of my clear explanation abilities, I have an example layout at the end of this report.)Now that I think about it, It is kind of similar to what Shawna did for people who associate numbers with color. This is me associating car rear’s with people’s facial features. The challenge will be to get what images I have in my head perfectly down on paper, and refining the way I think imagination wise (It’ll help me in vision my piece perfectly before I begin to try and put it on paper). Drawing realistic human faces will be a great challenge for me but I have confidence that I can do it since I’ll have reference photos and enough time to do rough sketches before I start the real thing. I think this will be a challenging project for me as well as an opportunity to let others into my strange artistic and imaginative world.
Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-32782409783317994572011-03-31T07:14:00.000-07:002011-03-31T07:14:58.691-07:00Portfolio ProjectIn portfolio, we are starting a new project. The only guidelines are to make sure you are working for a complete 4 weeks on the project, and that it has to be some sort of a series. I'm very excited for this but don't know exactly what I want to do.

At first I was thinking photography. It would be a great chance to get some more shots to my collection but the thing is, I don't have a digital high quality camera. I only have a great analog camera. And film now a days is pretty expensive, so I'm debating on wheather or not to really go through with it.

Then I was thinking of painting. Thats still an option, but again the canvas would be expensive, and I'm not exactly the greatest at painting.

Then I though of carpentry. I wanted to make a walk through story book page with 3-D characters in a story book setting. Its not that expensive but the thing with this is that I think it will take too long to finish.

The last idea that I had was to make my ME collection clothing range come to life. But that would take way too long to do all of the pieces, so maybe just creating one. Or maybe even creating a new piece. A girl who took portfolio and graduated last year, I think also did this so it feels a bit unoriginal. But I think this option is a very realistic one for me but I don't have a sewing machine XP. I've always wanted to make my own clothes, and how great would it be if I could do it for this project?Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-68130078574606798332011-03-14T08:11:00.000-07:002011-03-14T08:11:47.154-07:00Recent TsunamiRecently, I went to the FIRST regional at WPI. There was a team from Hawaii there. I was concerned for them since there was a chance for them to get part of the tsunami. Luckily the girls on the team said that it wasn't at all that bad in Hawaii and their schools had been evacuated safely.

However, Japan wasn't that lucky. with an 8.9 earthquake and tsunami there was a great deal of destruction. Not too long ago we all experianced what it was like for Katrina to hit and how we are still trying to recover from it. Homes and personal belongings destroyed, not enough food, lack of drinking water just begins the list of hardships. Here is video link for those who havn't seen footage of the damage:
However, I don't believe social networking sites should be blocked. They should be allowed because students are going to find a way around the blocks in the school system anyways. Plus students can use thier phones anyways to access facebook so it won't matter anyways. Plus you can use facebook or other sites for school purposes too. It makes sense to block such sites for elementary school and middle school but high schoolers should be allowed to access these sites.Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-9991672051964697282011-02-17T07:26:00.000-08:002011-02-17T07:26:48.745-08:00ArtistI got a request/suggestion from my principal, Mr.Larkin, to upload my artwork onto my blog. I wasn't planning on it, but why not, since art is a big part of my life. I'm currently taking Portfolio at BHS(kind of like AP Art since Mr. Ratkevich is merciless and I don't know if there are any art courses you can take after it in its field). The most recent project/homework assignment topic was "Who are you?" and we could use any medium we desired. After a week of having the concept of using clothes as a way to express this I came up with stylized sketches of clothes in my wardrobe.

(Insert Picture Here:)

First things first, its pronounced "M.-E. Collection" vs "me collection". It's supposed to stand for something(don't know what yet XD) and spells "me"(but not pronounced) if you use the initials only. I think of myself as different because just when people think they know me, I sporadically change. I find myself to be like an actor on the stage of the world (hence the blue and green stage that the characters are standing on). I can't be just one character. Its just no fun. Although my character does change I put the word ME on every face not only to brand my creations but to symbolize that the there are some fundementals of me don't change even when there is a change in character. I believe its those fundimentals is what the people around me, love about me, no matter who I sporadically change into. The character change doesn't necessarily mean I'm a cameleon blending in with those around me. I'm too sporadic to stay constant in that manner. Some people find it annoying but its just no fun staying one way.

Character 1: Punk/Rock - I LOVE love love heavy metal. Chop Suey by the System of a Down. It has been my number 1 favorite song since 8th grade. The phrase "I cry, When angels deserve to die" just gets to me everytime. So to represent this part of me, I took out whatever rockish clothes I had, took picture's of my friend in rockish clothes as well for reference, combined them and made the first stylized picture in the "M.E. Collection"

Character 2: HipHop - I love dancing hiphop even though I think it looks weird. It just feels good when dancing hiphop. I listen to a great amount of Korean hip-hop. Of course, I also listen to American hip-hop, as well as Russian, Singaporian, and etc.

Character 3: Nerd - I guess I am a bit nerdy and socially akward. I read in my spare time and I'm president of Robotix Club. I probably would be a hardcore gamer too but my parents won't let me own any kind of game consoul. I used to be severly addicted to Runescape though. Now its just a pass time hobby. Yes, I know, I'm old school.

Character 4: Bollywood/Indian - Both my parents are indian and I grew up as a first generation American from my family. I'm not a "FOB" but I still am greatly attached to certain aspects of the indian culture. My parents are both from Gujurat. The dress is a 'chanya chori' from india explaining the dress on the character.

Character 5: Trendy - It represents my extreme interest in fashion. Yes, I'm pretty much addicted to fashion. Its not my side I like to freely advertise. I may not look like it from the way I dress but if you know me well than you know that I spend more than half of my days looking into it. Unlike most teen girls, I don't exactly go by brandnames. I do go by designers because its like picking an artist you really like. Artists have different styles of doing things and if you like a certain style than you keep yourself updated about them and their art work. To explain why I have so many teen brand named clothing, is because most of the people around me buy my clothes so why not wear it to school as long as its comfortable.

Character 6: Business/Tomboy/Conductor - I'm also very into classical music. I don't believe I could be a great classical music conductor ever but I love picking apart the different instruments in classical music pieces. It's like I can see the notes being played. Its much like reading a poem with expression. Its also a business suit because some how I'm a natural at it and somehow always end up being involved in the business end of things. I always think I can do better or I can take this further (competitive side comes out XD). Lastly, the character is wearing what you'd more likely find a man wearing because I am a huge huge huge tomboy. I think it just has to do with my straight-forward-ness about things and the fact that I like to "roll out of bed in the morning, throw on what I want and go"Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-46876495345353462102011-02-13T18:57:00.000-08:002011-02-13T18:57:07.334-08:00"Ah, My leggings won't stay up!" SolutionI used to hate wearing leggings because they would never stay in place! always slipping down because the elastic wouldn't hold up. It made me avoid them for a long period of time. But then I found a way to solve this problem.

Its funny because technically my mom and dad came up with the solution. When I was little, I was a off the walls all the time! And my skirts always used to fall down. So my dad brought different elastic string to put in my skirts. We tried them and eventually found the right elastic and viola, my skirts stayed in place.

I find that flat elastics don't hold up so well, and eventually begin to loose their elasticity. However, with ROUND elastics won't loose their elasticity for many many years. It will also keep your clothes up 10 x better. I never have to tug at my leggings anymore because they stay up so well. It really re-assuring and now I wear leggings more often. I made instructions using a pair of Cambodian leggings I just got that I want to wear to dinner tonight:

How to make your leggings stay up:

1) Get your materials: round elastic from a local craft store, scissors, safety pin, thread and needle, and of course leggings. (Its best if you use leggings made of a non-wrinkly material)

2) Find the back of your leggings

3) Locate the elastic and cut a little slit on the inside of the elastic part of the leggings. You can try to take out the already given elastic in the leggings or just leave it.

4) Take your round elastic and put a safety pin on the end of it

5) Take your safety pin with the attached round elastic and push it through the slit you cut earlier. Push the safety pin through all around until you reach the slit again. Make a removable knot on the end.

6) Wear your leggings backwards (tag in the front) and remove the knot you made, adjust how tight you want the elastic to be, and tie a triple or quadruple knot. You want to make sure the elastic isn't too tight nor too loose. If its too tight, it'll dig into your skin and leave a mark. If its too loose than it'll slip down. Now sew the slit that you made in the back close. Wear your slip proof leggings out, work them, and your done!

Personally, I don't mind either way. I don't know if middleschool and elementary school children are mature enough to handle having so much easy access to distractions in their hands. But with the schools leaning twords integreating computers, laptops, and ipads, I don't think it matters. Kids have to eventually learn to work with all these distractions. Its just a matter of what age do you want to begin dealing with this. And like learning, for each kid it'll be a different age. So I personally don't care since I won't have a cellphone til college which is a decision both my parents and I agree on. I find a cellphone too distracting for my highschool life and will probably find it more useful in college.Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-75625703793044983202011-02-08T07:57:00.001-08:002011-02-08T07:57:34.451-08:00I just made a new Voki. The snow just keeps on falling! and with the snow falling so hard this year, its quite obvious the snow days are racking up. Sure, I love the snow and the days off that i don't have to make up being a senior but it's gotten to the point where I feel as though I'm slowly being buried alive. I'll hopefully get a picture up at some point.

So in web 2.0 we were required to make a blog on a tweet off of #bhschat. This one caught my attention right away: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/answer-sheet/technology/school-district-turns-snow-day.html

So of course school becomes one of the many concerns with all the snowfall. Snow days for me used to mean sleeping in late, shoveling snow, and then eating heaps of warm food when I got back inside my house. However, with technology beginning to be incorporated into school, its no longer sleep, shovel, eat, and relax. It's now sleep, shovel, eat, and homework. Yes, homework on snow days. Thank-you, internet. Like a double edged sword, although a part of me is upset, I can't deny that its a tremendous help since my teachers don't have to rush their learning material. Plus, atleast right now, teachers are a bit understanding and don't give as much work on snowdays (mostly just review, research, or study old material). Good luck to the future students since the way things are going, teachers won't be so merciful. Not to be pessimistic. But the bright side is that kids probably won't be having to make up snowdays when the weather gets better.Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-56469018031844709882011-01-26T08:03:00.000-08:002011-01-26T08:03:25.967-08:00Web 2.0 class assignment -1/26/2011

What are your thoughts on this?
I thought the video was cool and interactive and gave you a good sense of how society views things now a days. It does a good job covering the sterio types and the lack of transitioning happening from the old world to the modern world.

What do you agree or disagree with? What surprised you?
I completely agree with the ADHD part, as I myself am a 'victim' of it. Also I agree about the different learning styles and how society should not be looking down on the 'arts.' I was surprised that the artist would go as far as to drawing bush at one point and poking fun of him. =]Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-4213546276819150052010-12-18T09:16:00.000-08:002010-12-18T09:41:25.476-08:00Different Music Types Rule!Okay so its true I have a wide range of music I like. I like songs from just about every genre. The way I rate music goes pretty much like this: I don't understand this, Not my type, I like the beat, I like the lyrics, This song is catchy, I like this song, This song makes me want to dance, I love this song since it moves me emotionally.

I like so many genres because sometimes one genre will fit my emotional state or sway me emotionally differently than another genre. Its nice having a playlist of songs for different moods that I'm in and not having to limit myself to one genre just because its not cool enough. Like many of the songs on my relaxation list are classical, and maybe if I feel like letting out everything I've bottled up I'll listen to heavy metal, or I may listen to hip hop to keep me energized to complete my work and still be able to sing along to the representativeness. Or maybe I'll listen to Korean hip hop or Japanese rock to listen to different kind of lyric styles. Granted not all songs from the genres I described go with the moods or feelings I have associated with them but you get the gist. Liking a wide range of music really helps me to be able to have the right song to listen to at the right time. Also its not so bad when you ride in someone else car with them blasting music you've never herd before. I don't know if music is one of those things that some people learn to like or just click with. If its learning then I guess its because I give each type of music a couple of shots before I completely say no or yes. If its to do with clicking, then I'm glad that I happen like more than one music type.Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-47792047240051614552010-12-18T08:45:00.000-08:002010-12-29T18:12:05.805-08:00Brrr, So Cold!Since this is under my fashion page, I just want you let anyone reading this know that, I do not consider myself a fashion expert, I'm just here to share my neat little tips and tricks to help me get through life.

So its officially winter now, with all the first snow, frost, and being able to see your breath outside. And I hate having to wear something else instead of what I want to just because of winter. Yes, for those of you who know me, I hate it as much as wearing something uncomfortable or something that I have to constantly fix and tug at like a low cut top or shorts. But luckily, for the most part, I don't have to worry about both of those things. Nor do I worry about switching my wardrobe (except for adding some clothing items like scarves and sweaters). It's the brilliant invention of layering that has saved me.

Having long sleeves in every color of the rainbow allows me to wear any summer shirt without being cold. And even if one of my long sleeves I need is in the laundry, white and black long sleeves will go with just about any shirt so its handy to have a couple of black and white ones.

Same goes with leggings and other bottom wear. But we all know some leggings are not enough to keep warm. Well since I am a full time day student, from home to school I'll wear sweatpants over the leggings and then go to the bathroom and remove my sweats inside the warm building. Sometimes I'll do the same with my snowshoes and other foot wear. I keep my sweats in my locker so I don't have to carry everything and then slip them on again before I go. and even when I'm wearing jeans I tend to wear leggings underneath to keep myself warm.

Lastly, I'm sure we all know that accessoring with hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, earmuffs, or whatever it is that you have helps keep you warm and fashionable during the winter. So don't forget to throw it on before you head out!

And if you are so concerned about the cold avoid metal jewelry and go with more beaded ones or plastic covered jewelry. I personally don't think it makes much of a difference.Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-13314975749734532732010-12-18T08:10:00.000-08:002010-12-18T08:10:15.911-08:00School and WinterSo, we all know its torturous to wake up and go to school on a snowy, cold, wintery day. I never feel like waking up on winter days, in fact if it weren't for school all I'd probably do is hibernate during winter. You think I'm exaggeration but I can sleep 15 hours straight without waking up which is what happened to me on Wednesday this week. I passed out from the end of school to next school morning. My dad tried to wake me up to eat dinner but I was just wanted to sleep so I skipped dinner.

Besides my incredulous sleeping abilities, I wanted to say that I'm glad school takes place during the winter. Think about it. What better to do than get school out of the way during the winter so you can have your summers free? Winter days are just to short in sunlight to have much time to do any outdoor activities. It gives you a chance to try some indoor activities without thinking "I could be outside instead." like one might think during the summer or spring. Also, unless your schools like mine, you get to stay in a fairly heated building spending time with your friends. So in the end, having school during winter is a plus in life (especially if your like me and would end up hibernating if you had no school during the winter season).Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-22731294575260741162010-12-18T07:54:00.000-08:002010-12-18T07:54:34.457-08:00December Snow - Winter Is Here!So turkey season has ended and December has come with the first flourish of snow fall! While I was eating breakfast this morning I looked out the window and saw little white specs. I told my mom that it was snowing and she dismissed it as dandelion seeds. So I went outside to investigate and the little white specs were melting on my deck! It was snowing. I was amazed not just by the snow but by how fast fall had gone and winter had come.

Even though it was december, since I don't do christmas shopping til later in the month, it didn't feel like christmas was at the end of the month. But its already snowing, and as soon as you see snow, it means Christmas is right around the corner.
Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-55075384822124206212010-11-14T09:00:00.000-08:002010-11-14T09:00:49.936-08:00Hanging Out With The Girls -11/14/10
So this weekend, I finally got a chance to hang out with some of my girl friends. And the next day I was thinking about how much fun it was on Friday. Then I got a bit self-conscious and hoped that my friends had fun and were relaxed enough. It got me thinking about what other girls would normally do during a hang out. So that’s what brought me to my blogspot. So here’s what happened: It was bit difficult getting things together since just about everyone who I invited didn't have a ride. So in the end, just about everyone who could fit in my car came to hang out Friday afternoon. We all took my bus home and hung out in my bedroom, which I tried to frantically clean up while they were over (I did succeed since I’m fairly organized but I had to do my laundry over since I just stuffed everything back into my laundry basket). So they were all sitting at my bed we were talking/catching up on things and then we convinced my bestfriend to let us all do her makeup and hair over. So we straightened her hair and "purdied" (pretty-ed) her up with makeup. Then my dad drove us all to Panera, we got food and filled ourselves around 4:30. I really like Panera since it has a pretty wide range of food that just about anyone would love. After Panera with full tummies, we walked over to Marshall's to look around. We dressed each other up in funny, pretty, and funky clothing items and accessories which we got a good laugh out of. Then we went to RocheBrothers looking for a friend, but ended up finding one of my friend's cousin's there instead. After that we got picked up went home for a movie. Now I don’t know about you guys, but I fully believe that hanging out shouldn’t be something you dread since you have to keep up your façade or manners or something like that. I think it should be a way for you to let go and just be yourself and have fun. So my friends and I cuddled up in blankets and pillows on our comfy leather couches (foot rests popped out) and watched a movie with the sub-woofer up all the way and our awesome surround sound. And guess which movie we watched…. “Over the Hedge”. It was pretty funny, at least to me. I was surprised that my friends were actually pretty silent through the movie, usually when I watch movies with people its loud with people making a lot of comments all the time. Anyways, when my friends looked at me like are you serious when I got blankets out, that’s when I thought, “Am I being weird? Is this not normal.” And after I thought about it more, I thought, I realized it didn't matter. No matter what we do, as long as we can tare down those barriers that keep us uptight, it'll be fun for everyone, which is what matters most.
Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7621575310924380858.post-34780221130694337762010-10-26T08:55:00.000-07:002010-11-14T09:13:01.210-08:002/25/10 - Navratri GurjarThis weekend was fantastic for Navratri! It was a little late (a week late) but this is the one I was looking forward too. I went with my two friends Judy and Karishma. Karishma and I are pros at garba and although it was Judy's first time there. We convinced her to come along saying it was much fun, which it is. Judy found it to alot of fun. The year before, Karishma and I convinced Rebecca and her older sister to come along. Rebecca found it much fun as well. So since my camera is broken and I couldn't take it to the Gurjar I'm going to steal some pictures from Karishma's facebook page:
Navratri wasn't looking so great this year but Saturday, I'd have to admit, deffenitley made up for all the fun I was missing out on since I didn't go to many of the 9 days that Navratri lasts because of homework. I had some points where I got so caught up in everything since I know all the old songs' lyrics even though i'm a teen. My favorite part of Navratri is that you get to dance with people you have never meet before and have fun. I can't stand seeing people not smile when they are there to have fun playing garba or dandia! So every year my mission is to get everyone to smile while they are doing dandia. Its no fun not letting go and worrying about how you look etc. while you are dancing. And lets just say I succeed for the most part. I truly believe its fun to just let go and let the music carry your body to the beat. I had alot of fun with my friends, and I can't wait till next year!Zillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01197707506607331398noreply@blogger.com0
